98th Lipton Cup Challenge

World class sailors from across the country will compete on San Diego Bay



The San Diego Yacht Club (SDYC) is promising new and exciting to-do’s this weekend (Nov. 9 -11) at The 98th Lipton Cup Challenge, and where else to host such a prestigious competition than at beautiful San Diego Bay.

Lipton Cup San Diego Yacht ClubSpectators will have the opportunity to witness the competitive race for the Lipton Cup trophy (pictured right) between twelve sets of world class sailors. The participants, including New York Yacht Club, Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans and San Francisco Yacht Club, make this year’s Lipton Cup regatta the first of its kind for SDYC and the San Diego sailing community.

The schedule:

November 9: Day 1 Racing and Evening Reception

November 10: Day 2 Racing and Regatta Dinner

November 11: Day 3 Racing followed by Awards Ceremony
